Entry #11. Food, Inc. (extra credit)

Image
Today I watched a film on Netflix called "Food, inc". When starting this movie, I wasn't going into it thinking I'd enjoy it. But as I had been watching for a while, I found myself being glued to the tv until it was over. Realizing everything in this film is true, I became more and more interested in learning how it started. This film is hard to explain to someone who hasn't seen it, but I'm going to do my best to describe to you guys why you should definitely watch this film. The author of this film,  Robert Kenner, exposed America's entire food industry with this film. He showed how our entire food system is corrupt, from before its turned to food to the second we eat it. The film shows how our farmers are greedy, and would rather fill animals up with antibiotics, cage them, kill them in horrific ways, than to supply the people with healthy meats. The government is in on the whole operation, which explains why we rarely see photos and videos relating t...

Entry #10. Fall is here!

Image
Happy Sunday everyone! October is finally here which means its finally Fall! In Arizona we may not really experience the season fall, as our weather stays the same, but thats not going to stop me from decorating! This weekend my dad, sister, and I decorated our house for halloween. We put up our spooky decorations, halloween lights, pumpkins, etc. I decorated my room as well. We also put out pumpkin scented candles, so that when we decide to light them, it reminds us of fall. My favorite place to shop for fall decor is Target. Every Target has bins at the front of the store, generally called the "Dollar Spot". These bins are filled with things that are only a couple of dollars, and they always tend to have seasonal decorations in there, such as sayings to hang on your wall, candles, pillows, and other knick-knacks. Target always has great deals and has the cutest decor, in store and online. In store you can find seasonal decor in the Dollar Spot or in the decor section. The t...

Entry #9. Fast Food War

Image
Hey everyone. If you have been on social media at all within the past month, then you have most likely heard about the Chick-Fil-A vs. Popeyes chicken sandwich war. Popeyes released a chicken sandwich for the first time ever, and with Chick-Fil-A being widely known as the best fast for chicken sandwich, they had a new competition. Everyone raced out to try the sandwich and within days it was sold-out nationwide. This says a lot about our society, how we have news about chicken sandwiches being spread 10x quicker than news relation to our country and economy. Americans love fast food, and competition. So Popeyes releasing a sandwich just as good as Chick-Fil-A's brought incredible attention to Popeyes. The lines were extremely long and had hour waits just for the sandwich. People even posted videos of signs saying they "ran out of chicken". In this picture specifically, It is based off a meme that was popular back in 2018 that had nothing to do with fast food. The me...
