Entry #9. Fast Food War

Hey everyone. If you have been on social media at all within the past month, then you have most likely heard about the Chick-Fil-A vs. Popeyes chicken sandwich war. Popeyes released a chicken sandwich for the first time ever, and with Chick-Fil-A being widely known as the best fast for chicken sandwich, they had a new competition. Everyone raced out to try the sandwich and within days it was sold-out nationwide. This says a lot about our society, how we have news about chicken sandwiches being spread 10x quicker than news relation to our country and economy. Americans love fast food, and competition. So Popeyes releasing a sandwich just as good as Chick-Fil-A's brought incredible attention to Popeyes. The lines were extremely long and had hour waits just for the sandwich. People even posted videos of signs saying they "ran out of chicken".

In this picture specifically, It is based off a meme that was popular back in 2018 that had nothing to do with fast food. The meme shows a couple holding hands, but the guy is interested in the other girl. With this popular meme, people put images of popular things over the girl they had, but things they secretly liked better over the other girl. Now, with the Popeyes vs. Chick-Fil-A dispute, this meme was a perfect opportunity for a recreation. The Chick-fil-A sandwich is popular and is known as being the best, yet now that Popeyes has come around, people like it better and put it over the other woman in the picture. 

These days, social media goes crazy for disputes between fast food companies, especially on Twitter. Many fast food companies own twitter accounts, and have "beef", or tension between each other. Some examples are Wendys and Burger King, who constantly go at it back and forth on Twitter. People love it and the idea is actually incredibly smart, considering it brings in business and gets the restaurant spread more and more. The website I got this from, titled the page "Chicken Wars Are Dividing The Public...". This is ironic that people cannot seem to come together over anything, and how far we as people will go to prove something is better.

Entry #8. Time Travel

Hey everybody! This week, I watched two different movies about time travel. One of them, called "See You Yesterday", I really liked. Its about a two teens who spent their high school days inventing a time machine. This machine allows them to travel a day back into the future. But when one of their older brothers gets killed, they put their time machine to the test to go back and prevent it from happening. Many things get in their way, and the film ends with her going back alone one last time. At times I wonder if time travel will ever be possible. Albert Einstein came up with a theory called Special Relativity. Scientists have proven this theory to be true. Basically, this theory describes how time in space is different than time down here on Earth. For example, if you were to travel in a spaceship for 5 years, 50 years will have passed on Earth. Its crazy to think about because we haven't experienced it, but it is true. Im hoping in the future more studies are done...
